January 13, 2011Music at Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa

What started as a cotton ranch for Goodyear Tire & Rubber eventually grew into a small-scale guest ranch called the Wigwam, which opened on Thanksgiving of 1929. Over 80 years later, the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa in Litchfield Park, Arizona is home to over 300 guest casitas, 3 championship golf courses, a Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden, and award-winning dining options. Traditional adobe architecture, scenic walkways and blossoming gardens embellish the property, making the Wigwam Resort the ultimate escape destination for recharging and relaxation. Eager to help build this historic brand’s image, Prescriptive Music was happy to program the resort’s public spaces and dining areas with the perfect musical vibe for each location.

Keeping with the classic Southwestern adobe style architecture, the Wigwam wanted a similarly classic musical vibe flowing from the speakers. Overall, the Wigwam’s vibe is a blend of adult contemporary and classic R&B. The programmers at Prescriptive made custom additions to each area based on the Wigwam’s requests. The pool plays mostly upbeat adult pop but is sprinkled with hot country, 80s music and reggae.

The dining area has a classier feel, mixing classic R&B, smooth instrumental jazz, and modern day crooners like Michael Buble and Diana Krall. The musical vibe in the bar is cool and sophisticated, playing adult alternative like Santana and Rolling Stones along with rat pack standards, romantic Italian songs and jukebox hits from the 1950s onward.

Whether walking among the towering palm trees, manicured landscape and ornate fountains on the resort’s grounds or checking in at the lobby, guests at the Wigwam can enjoy a blend of familiar tunes that will put them at ease. And so can you – visit the Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa today!
