About the Role:
We’re seeking a deeply knowledgeable and instinctively tasteful Music Curator to join our team. This is a creative and highly collaborative role for someone who lives and breathes music—and understands how to shape mood, emotion, and environment through expertly chosen tracks. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining bespoke playlists that align with brand direction, time of day, and listener psychology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and maintain tailored playlists that align with client brand identity and target atmosphere
  • Interpret creative briefs and brand strategies into effective, dynamic music programs
  • Apply extensive knowledge of genres, sub-genres, eras, and musical movements across cultures
  • Refresh playlists regularly to keep music selections fresh, compelling, and appropriate
  • Work closely with Account Managers to implement client feedback and maintain creative alignment
  • Stay current on new releases, musical trends, and historical context across multiple genres
  • Tag and organize music selections with clarity and consistency
  • Contribute to curation strategy discussions, creative presentations, and cross-team initiatives

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Broad and deep musical knowledge across decades, cultures, and commercial genres
  • Demonstrated experience with playlist curation (for radio, retail, hospitality, events, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of how music influences mood, energy, and audience perception
  • Ability to articulate musical choices with both creativity and rationale
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to organizing large libraries of music
  • Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with music streaming platforms and playlisting tools
  • Experience working in environments with tight deadlines and shifting priorities

 

Nice to Have (But Not Required):

  • Background in DJing, radio programming, or music journalism
  • Experience presenting or pitching creative work to clients or stakeholders
  • Familiarity with hospitality or retail branding
  • Fluency in a second language
