Welcome to RXCOMMENDS, where our team of music curators pick the best tracks released this week. What new music has been occupying our office playlist and what fresh picks are we programming for our clients? Find out below!

“Rosewood” – Bonobo
By: Jamie Gemuend

Enjoy this luscious new single off of Bonobo’s new album titled, Fragments – arriving in January of 2022. This is Bonobo’s first release in 4 years and he is back, doing what he does best. Slip on this warm, hypnotic track for a night of mystery & groove.

“RISE” – Darius, Benny Sings
By: Michael Primiani

I can’t tell you how many of my clients want this exact sound for their bars, lobbies, patios and late night mixes. A downtempo deep house meets R&B with smooth bass is what the doctor ordered in this new track from Darius featuring Benny Sings – who released his eighth studio album Music earlier this year. Benny’s soft voice meshes well with Darius’ composition, with a chorus featuring double tracked vocals with one layer slowed down to give it an eerie, mellow feel. We’ll program this one and let you pretend that you’re the DJ, even though we know you’re spinning two espresso plates behind the bar. We won’t tell.

“ORACLES” – Farideh
By: Michael Primiani

This ethereal, Latin percussion coated track is perfect for unwinding. Farideh Olsen’s harmonies add a sultry flair that reminds us of the cadence of Feist or Fiona Apple. Lyrically, this song eludes to the strengths of female perception, using psychic energy as both metaphor and motif. “This song felt feminine and powerful and I wanted to capture the matriarchal wisdom of many ways of knowing” stated Farideh. This is instrumentally perfect for lounges and lobbies but lyrically could go well with a latte in a café and that long essay or late night overnight hours of work that you need the strength to get done.

“Burswood” – Surfing
By: Michael Primiani

Australian vaporwave/psych rock group Surfing is back with their first single in two years “Burswood”. Reminding us of Tame Impala and Washed Out, this heavy reverb, looping synth heavy track redefines chill. It has a certain nostalgia to it of a place you have sworn you’ve been before, but maybe it was just an 80s movie or video game. This creates an intoxicating vibe perfect for late night drinks, happy hour at that new resto-bar or to bring new life to your dying shopping mall’s food court.
