After creative detours into various collaborations and covers of soul standards, Seal re-enters the musical landscape with the album 7. The effort marks his first album since his split from ex-wife Heidi Klum in 2012 and a reunion with legendary producer Trevor Horn. The lead song, “Do You Ever” is an emotional tribute to love in which Seal emerges with such rawness and fragility in his story telling that’s reminiscent of earlier Horn produced hits, “Killer” and “Kiss From A Rose.” The song is simple yet beautiful and effective in demonstrating what’s most important; heartfelt vocals that don’t get lost in an elaborate production.

Other gems on the album are, “Every Time I’m With You” and “Love” which seems to be the main focus of the album. Seal has been quoted as saying, “The album concerns the most sung about, most talked about, and most documented emotion – love. I tried to capture all of the wonderfully different dynamics of love, whether it’s the anger, the acceptance, the bliss, the sadness, the elation, or the recklessness. It’s this emotion and the ways it makes us feel. It’s about the extreme joy and the extreme regret as well as all of the crazy things love makes us do.” Fans who missed this Seal will celebrate his triumphant return while new ears will rejoice the intensity, quality and clarity of good music!

7 is available everywhere digitally on November 6th.
