Top Picks

1.”Break My Heart” – Dua Lipa

Need to let loose and dance your worries away? Dua’s got you covered with her latest bop “Break My Heart!” The 24-year old London Pop superstar has been making headlines over the past few years with mega hits such as “New Rules,” “IDGAF” and “Don’t Start Now” that have women everywhere raising a glass, along with their standards. This ear worm track is nothing outside of Dua’s signature flavour of catchy hooks, bouncy beats and a “kick ‘em to the curb” mentality. Whatever formula her team has for producing hit after hit should be guarded with the kind of tenacity Dua brings to the music game itself.

2. “hey rose (Aslove Remix)” – Son Little

This track will have you clapping your hands, sliding through your living room and shaking what your mama gave you! It’s got gritty basslines served with a funky rhythm that will make your stresses seem a little more manageable…at least for 2 minutes and 28 seconds.

3. “Frontstreet” – Mick Jenkins

This is the ideal track to get out your frustration. Mick Jenkins goes off in a fiery freestyle you do not want to mess with. His voracious raps are laid over KAYTRANADA’s speedy track “September 21” that gives an element of intensity and urgency. It’s a track to go hard to, be mad and just let it out.

4. “Kyiv” – Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes

If you’ve never heard of these two artists, please stop what you’re doing and look them up now. Classically trained guitarist Tom Misch and innovative Jazz drummer Yussef Dayes have teamed up to produce a stripped down, cosmic jam record that focuses on the beauty of instrumentals. It’s a throwback to early Jazz tradition of building the song with call and response technique, while keeping with a modern delivery. Throw this track on and float away into a blissful daze.

5. “Ooh LA LA” – Run The Jewels, Greg Nice & DJ Premier

Maximalist Rap troupe Run The Jewels are back at it in typical cut throat style with a booming hype track made to get your heart pumping. The aggressive lyrical style in which the duo performs echoes Rap’s pioneers who were at odds with societal standards and held nothing back. This track will have you puffing out your chest and channeling your inner beast!
