The long list for the 2017 Polaris Music Prize was announced today. The blue-ribbon panel of programmers, DJ’s, producers, artists, label execs, and Canadian music personalities came up with the 40-album list, of which, the ‘best Canadian album of the year’ will be selected. The short-list will be narrowed down on August 13th while the annual gala will take place on September 18th in Toronto.
