Legendary soul singer Bobby Caldwell and triple Grammy award-winning producer Jack Splash have come together to form Cool Uncle. The duo recently announced their debut self-titled album, arriving November 13th, featuring Cee-Lo Green, Mayer Hawthorne and more. Check out their new soul-funk track, “Break Away” featuring Jessie Ware:

Bobby Caldwell has been recording prolifically for over 30 years, but you’ll probably know him best from his frequently sampled 1978 hit, “What You Won’t Do for Love” (which was also recently covered by Jessie Ware.)

Jack Splash is a songwriter and producer from Los Angeles whose credits include Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, John Legend and many more.

If you enjoy this fusion of classic soul and crisp, contemporary beats as much as I do, the duo also shared a smooth jam from the forthcoming record: “Breaking Up”, featuring Florida rapper Eric Biddines and classic soul singer Deniece Williams. Check it out below:
