It’s time to add another music streaming service to the already existing Spotify, Pandora, and the troubled Tidal. No big secret YouTube has entered the field when they released YouTube Red music streaming service to add to their Music Mobile App for iOS/Android. Subscription will cost $9.99 per month and if you download the new Music Mobile app you’ll get hooked up for a one month free trial.

What’s YouTube’s biggest advantage from every other music streaming service…VIDEOS of course. So essentially YouTube Red will use it’s massive video library to compete against other services. It’s fairly simple the YouTube app is free to all users, but only YouTube Red accounts can access its full range of options.

As a Red user you will be able to turn music videos into audio only streams and listen to audio while using background mode functions. You’ll also be able to download songs to an app playlist that will run on or offline.

With or without Red, customers can see stations personalized according to songs, genres, artists and titles. They can find an artist’s complete album collection and see related items ranging from live performances to amateur covers.

This is a total numbers streaming game. Spotify has approximately 20 million paid subscribers, Apple Music has 6.5 million. YouTube has 1 Billion viewers, time will tell if that number is willing to fork out $9.99 a month for YouTube Red…Just for the record available in Canada 2016.
