In recent years, Australia has been the source of numerous solid additions to the electronic music scene. Wave Racer, aka Tom Purcell, is undoubtedly worthy of inclusion. The young producer’s bright and shimmery future-funk garnered a string of tour dates that saw him support the likes of Disclosure, Chromeo and Porter Robinson, and a signing to Future Classic – the home of Flume, Chet Faker, Cashmere Cat and more.

His debut EP for the label, Flash Drive, releases Oct. 16th, and includes the following single, “World Record.”

You can almost hear the pixels.

Wave Racer has recently finished a North American leg of his tour, but if you’re down under you can find him on the following dates:

Fri 06 Nov – Sydney – Oxford Art Factory
Thu 12 Nov – Joondalup – Low Pitch @ Arcade Nightclub
Fri 13 Nov – Perth – Speakeasy @ Jack Rabbit Slims
Fri 20 Nov – Brisbane – Oh Hello
Fri 27 Nov – Melbourne – Howler
