Formed in Ann Arbor as the imagination of the Funk Brothers if they were German, Vulfpeck have been forcing ugly-face on their listeners since 2011. Go ahead and try to listen to “1612” without making a face best avoided on a first date. You can’t do it.

Their latest release The Beautiful Game does not disappoint. There are a host of collaborators working with this baddest of rhythm sections, with Cory Wong featured heavily. Wong works his Stratocaseter like it’s a magic lamp and the genie is named Steve Cropper.
