BELLE is an up-and-coming Toronto-based alternative r&b singer-songwriter who has been compared to the likes of Aaliyah and The Weeknd.

She has four EPs under her belt to date:

  • February 2014: First EP, titled ‘Post.Traumatic. Stress. Disorder’ [PTSD]
  • August 2014: Second EP, titled ‘Obsessive. Compulsive. Disorder’ [OCD]
  • March 2015: Third EP, titled ‘Attention. Deficit. Hyperactivity. Disorder’ [ADHD]
  • April 2016: Fourth EP, titled ‘Disorders’

Just by reading the album titles, you can probably guess that BELLE touches on some pretty intimate and personal subject matters in her music. She sings about self-doubt, dependency, heartbreak, sexual and emotional abuse, as well as drug addiction.

Having followed her on Twitter for some time now, I can tell you that she is not afraid to show vulnerability, which has allowed her to build personal relationships with her fans.

I AM BELLE. I FEEL IMMENSELY. MY HEART CONFINED. I’M WORKING ON THAT. I CRY PROFUSELY. I LAUGH… OFTEN. ESPECIALLY WHEN I’M NERVOUS. I EXPRESS… GENUINELY. I SHARE ALL OF ME. EVERY SCAR, EVERY TEAR, EVERY SMILE UNAPOLOGETICALLY. AND I SING… WITH ALL THAT I AM, I SING. – BELLE
