For when you’re feeling social

The Strumbellas released their 3rd studio album on Friday, and for anyone unfamiliar with their work, it’s a nice entry point. Fans have been waiting for the Six Shooter release for a while, having had the first single “Spirits” released back in January and, for the most part, it delivers the goods.

They are not breaking the mold at all with the 11 tracks that make up Hope – and that’s not a bad thing. The anthemic sing-along choruses all over the album. As the album title would suggest, the lyrics mostly an upbeat take on oft-covered subjects in the folk rock world. In a nutshell – we’re all in this together, and we’re gonna be alright. The Toronto based band are keeping things accessible, if a little predictable, and the music here will likely make for some great summer concerts; so much the better if your pre and post show time can be spent on a dock somewhere.
