Talib Kweli is one of the most socially and politically aware rappers of the last 20 years. The Brooklyn-native, after earning his stripes long ago as one of the best MCs in the business, stands as one of the worlds most accomplished hip-hop artists, previously as one-half of Black Star with Mos Def or doing his own thing collaborating with Kanye West, Pharrell, J Dilla, or Madlib.
Today he dropped a new LP called, ‘Radio Silence’ with features including, Rick Ross, Jay Electronica, Anderson .Paak, Waka Flocka Flame and BJ the Chicago Kid. I’m loving the flow of the album and Talib’s level of consciousness that he delivers through his lyrics.
In September, Master T aka Tony Young sat down with Talib on Prescriptive TV to talk about everything from staying relevant and the new state of hip hop, to his style over the years and the changes that come with maturity. He also gives his breakdown on all things Twitter!
