What happens when a folk singer teams up with a folk rocker? That may sound like a set-up for a joke, but it’s actually what’s behind the upcoming Colvin & Earle album.

Each Grammy winners in their own right, Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle have partnered up for the album, and in listening to their first single, the dark strum-y folk stomper, “You’re Right (I’m Wrong)”, which debuted on, it sounds like a perfect pairing.

In the RS article, Earle reveals that “You’re Right” is actually “the darkest piece on the record — a little scary even for Shawn and myself.”

Other songs said to be on the album include political rocker, “Tell Moses” as well as a cover of the Rolling Stones classic, “Ruby Tuesday”.

Colvin & Earle is expected to be released June 10th, with a full tour to follow in the summer. In the meantime listen to, “You’re Right (I’m Wrong)” below.
