Solange’s performance art piece Metatronia is an outdoor installation that incorporates dance featuring dancers from the California State University and sculpture.  It’s on display at Los Angeles’ Hammer Museum.

It was directed by Solange and choreographed by Gerard & Kelly, while the music was scored with John Kirby. In addition, Solange aided with the sculpture design alongside Griffen Frazen.

It is said that Metatron’s Cube is a sacred geometrical symbol that forms a map of creation and it is this ‘map’ that the mystics, sages and ancient civilizations have revered throughout the ages of time.

“Metatronia explores the process, and mapping of creation,” Solange explains in a statement. “The piece is an exercise on following the intuitive force that guides us, helping us to create space, and silence the mind to create the work. Continuing my practices and interest in exploring the relationship of movement and architecture as a meditation, Metatronia centers around building frequency and creating charge through visual storytelling.”
