Singer-songwriter, Beatles legend, Paul McCartney has released his first compilation of hits since 2001’s Wingspan: Hits and History. What makes this new release of compiled songs, simply titled Pure McCartney, so special… is that he picks up where ‘Wingspan’ left off with hand-picked songs. His previous compilation album stopped in 1984 leaving off years of McCartney’s solo recordings. The new four-disc box set also travels back through time and almost captures completely the artists full range of songs that have put an exclamation point on his huge contribution to pop music. Fans will enjoy classic songs from the vintage albums Wings Greatest, All the Best, Flaming Pie, Chaos & Creation in the Backyard and Memory Almost Full, among others. It is worth noting that the album Flowers in the Dirt was skipped entirely and hits such as “Take It Away,” “My Brave Face,” and the holiday favorite “Wonderful Christmastime,”. Such exclusions may be the reason for yet another compilation in the future. Pure McCartney is now available everywhere digitally.
