A Tribe Called Red will be dropping their brand new album ‘We Are the Halluci Nation’ on September 16. The group is known for their unique blend of modern electric beats with key elements of First Nations music, reggaeton and dubstep. A lead of video for “R.E.D.” features Yasiin Bey formerly known as Mos Def and Iraqi-Canadian MC Narcy — a one-time professor of hip-hop history at Concordia University. The powerful track also highlights Black Bear (a drum group from the Manawan Atikamekw Nation in Quebec). Directed by Narcy, the video follows Bey and Narcy as they rap through the desert and streets of Capetown, South Africa. The upcoming album will also feature, Saul Williams, Polaris Prize-winning throat singer Tanya Tagaq and Canadian rapper Shad.
