It has been three years since the Toronto group released the heavy synthesized Pagans In Vegas and it seems they have gone back towards their signature guitar-driven indie sound. This is never a bad thing. July 12th saw the release of “Dark Saturday”, the first single from the upcoming as-yet-untitled album from the indie rock darlings. The track brings us back to the lovely days of 2009’s Fantasies. Emily Haines even throws us some karen O vibes on “Dark Saturday” and we aren’t mad about it.

You can catch the video below. Haines describes the video: “The song, Dark Saturday, describes a night spent trapped in useless conversation with rich idiots where all you want to do is be with your real friends.” We feel ya, Em.

The upcoming full length Metric album is due out on September 21st.
