As one of the more successful duos in recent Rap music memory, Run the Jewels have done the near-impossible. They’ve had their excellent 2nd album, Run the Jewels 2, entirely remixed with (ahem) cat noises.

The idea first came about when the band did a Kickstarter for the RTJ2 album and jokingly offered the cat remix album as an option if they were able to raise over $42,000.

Fans and, who are we kidding, the Internet, responded in a major way and sure enough raised the money to make Meow the Jewels happen.

The remixes were done by some of the best in the biz including Dan the Automator, the Alchemist, Geoff Barrow (of Portishead), Prince Paul, Baauer, and more.

El-P said of the album on Twitter, ““Did we make the silliest, occasionally most grating possible remix album? Of course, and we did it for you, Mike brown and Eric Garner.”

Download the album for free here or take a listen to Just Blaze’s remix, “Oh My Darling (Don’t Meow)” below.

Meow the Jewels will also be available as limited edition vinyl via Daylight Curfew which you can pre-order here.
