Apparently concieved and shot in under a day, the new video for Jack White’s “Would You Fight For My Love?” off of Lazaretto seems like a sort of half-hearted nod to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.

Slightly creepy, slightly heartbreaking, this Robert Hales directed video actually encapsulates the feeling of the song in a pretty minimalistic way. With the exception of the slightly cheesy use of strobe and Jack White starting weirdly into the camera, it’s shot well – and White actually does a fairly good job at being “that guy at the bar who doesn’t know what he wants from that girl in the corner, but maybe if I get a few more drinks in me I’ll be able to at least talk to her” guy. Something tells me that that wasn’t too much of a stretch for him…
