Somehow it doesn’t quite feel like six years since we last heard from the the folky Pacific-Northwesterners, but today they broke that dry spell with the announcement of their long-awaited third LP called Crack-Up. Arriving officially in June the album was mixed by Phil Ek and self-produced by the bands own Robin Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset. Named after a F. Scott Fitzgerald essay about modern “thinking” the group released a 9-minute heavily harmonized new song entitled “Third Of May / Ōdaigahara.”
