In this week’s documentary Pitchfork offers us an oral history of The Soft Bulletin, an album that gave The Flaming Lips their solid ground and delighted music fans the world over.

For the film, Pitchfork traveled to Oklahoma City to talk to the band and others from the Lips’ camp regarding the creation of one of the 1990s’ definitive rock records. It features rare footage and photographs as well as interviews with Wayne Coyne, Steven Drozd, Michael Ivins, producer Dave Fridmann, and manager Scott Booker.
