New Zealand based reggae/dub/jazz/techno band Fat Freddy’s Drop released their new album Bays on October 23rd off their own label The Drop. The 7-piece band approached their fourth studio album a little differently this time around. Instead of hitting the studio with a batch of road tested songs ready for a nice coat of polish they opted to write all new songs in the studio. The results are a tight and focused nine tracks with even more groove based elements. The guys definitely took advantage of multi-tracking during the writing process. What will be interesting to see is how these songs open up on the road.
