Video: Gabriel Black’s interview with The Line of Best Fit

Gabriel Black is an interesting character (literally), the singer-songwriter not only expresses himself through music, but through his drawings as well.

Musically, his sound is a mix of alternative-rock, hip-hop, r&b and emo. According to his interview with The Line of Best Fit, he’s inspired by the music he grew up listening to including artists such as, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Kid Cudi, Kanye West and My Chemical Romance.

Gabriel is also influenced by American film director Tim Burton, whom he says has child-like qualities, but also a dark side that he can relate too. He considers art to be another outlet for his creative expression. Gabriel has created a world of his own through his animations, which allows him to freely express himself without constraints. He notes that his new music actually inspired his cartoons, which he’s drawn to embody himself.

Listen to his latest track “Freedom” below.
