ABOUT HANA VU

Hana Vu makes dreamy pop with bite. The 17-year-old Los Angeles artist has been writing and recording music for years; her self-released album on SoundCloud featured a collaboration with fellow music wunderkind Willow Smith, and she has recently signed with Fat Possum offshoot Luminelle Recordings.

Vu’s music epitomizes a contradiction at the heart of bedroom pop— her reflective lyrics and soulful vocals generate a sense of intimacy, but her dreamy grooves have broad appeal. Written and produced by Vu herself, “Shallow” and “Crying on the Subway” are songs for loners that are meant to be shared.

Fans of Clairo, Soccer Mommy and Japanese Breakfast will enjoy Vu’s guitar and synth-driven tracks. Her debut EP, How Many Times Have You Driven By is out June 29th.
