Apple is preparing to terminate iTunes music downloads within as little as two years. At least, that’s what word on the street is. The reason for this is that while paid music downloads are still a giant monkey maker for Apple, they’re still seeing a rapid decline that isn’t strengthening and based on the patterns, will only worsen in the next few years.
Apple has projected that digital music sales will look like this by 2019, however they’ve quickly responded saying that this is simply not true.
The subscription’s for Apple’s streaming service, Apple Music have been vastly increasing, with the service not yet even hitting it’s 1 year anniversary yet. Who knows, if the streaming revenue precedes digital sales, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
