South London trio, Beaty Heart, returns with their sophomore effort Till The Tomb. The group is comprised of Josh Mitchell (vocals, guitars, electronics), Charlie Rotberg (drums, electronics), and James Moruzzi (drums, vocals, electronics). It is their follow-up from 2014’s Mixed Blessings and offers less indie-rock, afro-pop catchy tunes and focuses on a sound that is more sophisticated with indie-pop and electronic-funk driven vibes. Although they have introduced and expanded on some soul, jazz and even Brazilian influences, they haven’t lost the psychedelic leanings that gave them their uncanny trademark. Some of the highlights from their album are the singles, “Soft Like Clay,” “Flora” and “Raw Gold.” The latter is a compelling, trip-hop inspired track that features Moruzzi’s infections falsetto vocals. Till the tomb is now available digitally.
