June 27, 2011Southwest Porch Music By Prescriptive Music

Prescriptive Music infuses Southwest Porch with cutting edge bands and enjoyable classics for the summer season.
To coincide with the launch of Southwest Airlines’ arriving and departing flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Southwest flew into Bryant Park and transformed Tom Coliccio’s Witchcraft restaurant into a cozy yet luxurious space aptly named Southwest Porch.
Located in midtown (theatre district), the patio is outfitted with an assortment of chairs, couches and wicker swings, blending style and relaxation. Breakfast at the porch consists of sophisticated jazz vocals by Norah Jones, Blossom Dearie and Chet Baker, mixed with modern sounds from Federico Aubele, Band of Horses and Adele. Later in the day and into the evening, patrons will enjoy a contemporary mix of indie rock, jazz vocals, lounge, and dance music. Artists include: Wild
Nothing, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Frank Sinatra and Madeleine Peyroux.

To celebrate warm summer nights, Prescriptive Music was asked to turn up the volume for Game Night and light the grill for Cookout Sundays. Wednesday nights from 6pm-9pm, Prescriptive Music has created an energetic and fun mix tape to keep Game Night on the porch rockin’! Try your hand at giant Jenga, Taboo, Risk, and more while the Rolling Stones, Temptations, Robyn and Dragonette cheer you on. Sunday means cookout on The Porch.

Mouth watering BBQ is accompanied by a mix of modern/classic rock, soul and country. Artists Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay, Sugarland, The Black Keys and Aretha Franklin.
